LAYOUT PLAN ( SHOWING THE ADDITIONS TO THE OLD MARKET TO THE SOUTH-BOTTOM ) AND PLAZA TO THE NORTH

BASIC CROSS SECTION THROUGH THE DESIGNED UNITS

AS SEEN THE PROJECT SPANS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE EXISTING OCTAGONAL MARKET PLACE. THE DENSE FORMATION OF VEGETABLES SELLING UNITS TO THE SOUTH IS ABLE TO ACCOMODATE THE SPACE CRISIS THAT THE AREA FACES. THIS LEADS TO THE FORMATION OF A MUCH LARGER GATHERING SPACE LIKE A PLAZA, WHERE THERE CAN BE MANY ACTIVITES CARRIED OUT. THE INDIVIDUAL SELLING UNITS ARE SO FORMED THAT THEY CAN BE CLUBED INTO ONE CONTINUOUS ROOF, GIVING US ELONGATED ROOF STRUCTURES. ALSO CRUTIAL WAS THE HARMONY BETWEEN THE OLD AND THE NEW. THE NEW STRUCTURES WILL BE BUILT USING LOCALLY AVAILABLE STONES FOR THE PLINTHS AND GROUND , STEEL STRUCTURE FOR THE ROOF, AND ROOFING IS MADE WITH CLAY TILES. THE DESIGN INCORPORATES A RAIN WATER HARVESTING SYSTEM. THE STORED WATER WILL BE USED FOR CLEANING THE MARKET PLACE.
