AHMEDABAD HERITAGE CENTRE : A COLLABORATIVE BETWEEN THE EMBASSY OF FRANCE IN INDIA AND THE AHMEDABAD MUNICIPAL CORPORATION FOR THE REVITALIZATION OF THE WALLED CITY OF AHMEDABAD
 
ERECTING THE STEEL TRUSSES ROOFING THE SPACE
THE GROUND FLOOR OF THIS STRUCTURE HOLDS A WORKSHOP WHERE KIDS CAN MAKE MODELS UNDERSTAND MEDIUMS LIKE CLAY, WOOD, PAPER, COLOR ETC. THE FIRST FLOOR IS DESIGNED AS A SMALL SIZE LIBRARY WITH NECESSARY READINGS ON THE CITY OF AHMEDABAD. THE SECOND FLOOR IS DESIGNED TO BE A MEETING ROOM. IT IS NOT A CONTAINED SPACE . IT HOLDS A SMALL PANTRY.

AS OBSERVED THE CHARACTER OF THE COMMAN WALL WITH THE ADJOINING PART IS MAINTAINED AS THE ORIGINAL. IT HAS BEEN RESTORED IN ITS ORGINAL MANNER.
     
HANGING BAMBOOS FROM THE WORKSHOP INTERNAL ELEVATION
THE BAMBOOS ARE HUNG AND KEPT DANGLING. THIS IS DONE PREVENT FROM PEGIONS FROM ENTRING THIS OPEN SPACE. THE BIRDS ARE AFRAID OF COMING NEAR OBJECTS THAT KEEP MOVING. THE BRICKS USED ARE ALSO NOT OF THE CONVENTIONAL SIZES. THEY WERE SPECIALLY SIZED BRICKS ACCORDING TO TRADITIONAL BRICK SIZES IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THE REQUIRED RHYTM IN THE ELEVATION.
