AHMEDABAD HERITAGE CENTRE : A COLLABORATIVE BETWEEN THE EMBASSY OF FRANCE IN INDIA AND THE AHMEDABAD MUNICIPAL CORPORATION FOR THE REVITALIZATION OF THE WALLED CITY OF AHMEDABAD

TANKSHAL NI HAVELI

Tankshal today stands complete in all its splendor. The project also incorporates the traditional water harvesting system using the old underground water tank, and modern filteration techniques. This will illustrate the childeren the importance of harvesting water in the indian subcontinent.

The project is crucial in the revitalization of the old walled city of Ahmedabad.
The project due to several difficulties legal and others has taken three years for completion. It is not a one man project, as it had always been the project of the Ahmedabad Heritage Centre. The entire project has been funded by the Embassy of France in India.

NOTE :
From September 2005, as a memeber of the Ahmedabad Heritage Centre team, I was offered the complete charge of the project. The project saw its completion in April 2006. Two other names should also be mentioned here, those of Mr. Pierre Cadot (the spearhead), and Miss Khushi Shah, who are integral participants of the following project along with all the other memebers of the team.
